Where do I stand?

Income and net worth percentiles, measured against people like you, not everyone. The American income distribution is mostly a distribution of life stages and household structures, so “how do I compare to the whole country” is a nearly useless question. This one conditions on who you actually are and shows you the distribution you're standing in. It compares you to people whose situation actually looks like yours.

Nothing you type leaves your browser. No accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no server. The whole model is in this page and runs on your machine. After it loads, it makes zero network requests, which you can check in your browser's network tab.. The whole model runs on your phone and makes zero network requests after it loads.

Two questions, then your answer.

To start, the comparison is simply all U.S. adults near your age; nothing else is assumed about you. Every detail you choose to add afterwards narrows the group to people whose situation actually looks like yours. (Switch to Household any time to compare whole households instead.)

What this is. An estimate, not a lookup. Nobody publishes a table for "41-year-old renters with two children in a mid-cost state": cut any survey that finely and the groups get too small to report. So this page does the cutting with a model instead: it starts from official published figures, then shifts and stretches that distribution using effects measured in federal survey microdata. The result is internally consistent and directionally right, and it will not match any single published table. Informational and entertainment purposes only.
